There is NO such thing as a “Standard” Handicap Parking Lot Stencil. It’s private property. Designs vary. Sizes vary. There is however, an International Standard Handicap Parking Lot Stencil that’s used for some public property jobs. Take a look. Questions ? Please call.  (614) 237.8884.

All sizes are the actual height of the cutout portion. A 39″ Handicap measures 39″ from the top of the “head” to the lowest part of the “wheel”. Our Edge Distances are then added and bigger than most. It’s not just over spray protection, it’s about strength. You’ll use this stencil on almost every job.

My best advice is this…buy the 39″ height…for (2) reasons. 1) It’s thee most popular size. 2) You can always go bigger, but be careful going smaller. In other words; when I stripe a parking lot, I don’t measure the existing Handicap. I “Blue It Out”, as I teach in my book, and then spray my 39″.  If the existing stencil was 36″, again…you can always go bigger. BUT…if they do have a 39″ Handicap Stencil…be careful. Don’t replace it with an 24″ Handicap Stencil, that customer may have a complaint. Bottom line, I’d buy the 39″ height.

I’ve been striping for (28) years. Most of my own, personal stencils are the thicker, 125 Mil = 1/8″ thick material. But…for occasional use, the 60 Mil = 1/6″ thick material will serve you well. Try not to buy anything thinner than 60 Mil. It tends to flutter and it may be overpriced. Again, I hope I helped. Click Contact Me if I can help further.
