Handicap Parking Lot Stencil
There is our original design, Handicap Parking Lot Stencil. There is no standard design, size or shape, etc. It is private property. And, in (28) years, I have never been on a parking lot that had a Handicap ( HC ) stencil that matched mine. AND…all those parking lots lots had different HC stencils. ALL different. No standard. None. I will tell you how to deal with that, below.
All of our stencils are manufactured from Low Density Polyethylene Plastic. ( LDPE ) LDPE is certainly re-usable and the popular choice of pavement marking companies. Choose 60 Mil thickness = 1/16″ thick material, for occasional use. Choose 125 Mil thick material = 1/8″ thick material for professional use. Try not to buy anything thinner than 60 Mil. I’ve been striping parking lots for (28) years and all of my own, personal stencils are 125 Mil = 1/8″ thick, Low Density Polyethylene Plastic. ( LDPE ) But…for occasional use, the 60 Mil = 1/16″ thick material…will serve you well.
Notes…
The most popular size is the 39″ Tall Handicap Parking Lot Stencil. If you can, buy the 39″ tall size for (2) reasons. It’s the most popular size, by far, and you can always go bigger but be careful going smaller.
In other words, if I have a client that has a 36″ Handicap Parking Lot Stencil, I cover that existing ( HC ) stencil by laying my HC stencil on top of that, old, existing HC stencil, right where it belongs, and trace around the perimeter using chalk. I slide my HC stencil aside and paint a blue square, inside that chalk perimeter, covering the old stencil that’s on the ground. I then lay my HC stencil back on top of that dry, “Blue Block” and re spray. ( You can always go bigger. ) BUT…if you have a client that has, for example, a 24″ STOP Stencil, be careful “Greying It Out” and then replacing it with a 12″ STOP.
