California Handicap Stencil
This is the California Handicap Stencil Design. The (1) size is 39″ Tall x 34″ Wide. However we have a 36″ version too. If this Handicap is being called out, I’d buy the 39″. The 36″ was for a crew who just wanted it ! Next…The dimension given is the actual cutout portion. A 39″ Handicap measures 39″ from the top of the “head” to the lowest part of the “wheel”. Our Edge Distances are then added and ours are larger than most. It’s not only about spray protection, it’s about strength. You’ll use this stencil on almost every job. It needs to last. The “Brush Strokes” are 4″ all around for either size.
And, we offer a “Picture Frame”, if you want, to go with either size. The Picture Frame is used to spray the Blue Background. I don’t use a Picture Frame. I trace around the perimeter of my Handicap stencil using Railroad Chalk. I’ll then slide that stencil aside. I’ll then use a standard 9″ roller, dip it into a bucket of blue and hand paint / roll, ( just like you’d paint your living room wall )…that chalked, rectangular background. Once I replace the stencil on the painted “Blue Block”, it’ll be centered by default and I’ll spray the Handicap. Also, this procedure covers any existing Handicap stencil, that’s on the ground and does not match, so I then can re-spray using mine. Anyhow, that’s me. There’s more about all that in my book; How I Stripe. If you have questions, please call; 614.237.8884.
Our stencils are manufactured from Low Density Polyethylene Plastic. ( LDPE ) LDPE is certainly reusable, easily cleaned and the popular choice among pavement marking companies. Proper width, and brush stroke, of our stencils, make them easy to see from a distance, while driving.
We manufacture (2) material thicknesses: 125 Mil = 1/8″ thick and 60 Mil = 1/16″ thick. Choose 125 Mil for professional use. Choose the 60 Mil thickness, for occasional use. Try not to buy anything thinner than 60 Mil. It tends to be flimsy / flutter and may be overpriced. To read more click; Read Our Blog.
I’ve been striping parking lots, streets and floors for (30) years. All of my own, personal stencils, which are hanging on my shop wall, are the thicker 125 Mil. BUT…for occasional use, the 60 Mil material will serve you well. If you’re looking to buy the best parking lot stencils, please consider ours.
